Animals
A young buck practicing his camouflage skills.
Up a tree sitting back in the tangle of branches this guy was waiting for me to leave before he came back down to continue feeding.
True Albino Squirrels have a pink eye while a white morphed has a dark eye. White squirrels are almost always a version of the Eastern Grey Squirrel.
It is somewhat rare to see the white squirrels as their coloring hampers their ability to hide from predators such as the fox and hawks.
Really sticks out sitting in the tree branches.
When there is no table around why not use your friends back.
Only bucks over a year in age have antlers. They will lose them during winter and as they re-grow they are covered with a living tissue called velvet which supplies blood, feeds and protects them. They can grow up to 1/2" a day.
Foxes come in 3 color morphs but are typically red. They are excellent swimmers and can also jump very high. They are omnivores which explains this one comes to my bird feeders at night looking for seed such as sunflower and nuts.
I was wondering why one of my Broom Shrubs was looking a bit shabby. Found out "tubby" here was using it as a bed.
My Broom Shrubs also serve as a good snack for these rodents that are actually in the squirrel family.
Nothing better than a nice swim in an algae green filled pond. You can eat and drink at the same time.
Sitting in the morning dew.
Please sir, I'd like some more.
Sometimes when I'm photographing these little guys one just gets up and starts to dance. They love the camera.
This one was in my yard after a heavy rain. Look at this poor guy.
